Business digestBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published October 16, 2000 Who's newsFlorida Power Corp. and Carolina Power and Light recently announced that when the two companies merge this fall Kathy Small will be community relations manager for Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties. Small is now area manager of Pasco and northern Pinellas counties for Florida Power. After the merger, Small will manage community relations activities, including all municipal and county relations, as well as be the coordinator of the numerous future community activities in which Florida Power will participate in the three counties. Her office will be in Pasco County. * * * Star One Realty recently announced that its office has expanded to include two more units totaling more than 3,000 square feet. They are located at 11311 Little Road in the Blackwell office complex in New Port Richey. Their top agents for September are: Meg Connolly, top lister; Marguerite Pugliese, top sales; Jeff Meyer and Karen Malluck, top producers. * * * Kemp Real Estate recently announced its top producing associate, Patrina Coger, who was tops in closed sales and closed listings, as well as top producer for the month of September. * * * Dr. Michael A. Pikos, board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and founder of Coastal Jaw Surgery, recently lectured on dental implants in Honolulu and San Francisco. BriefsD. Cahill Realty recently announced that their third quarter sales figures were more than $20-million in closed transactions. * * * Arthur Rutenberg Homes' Calais model, with more than 3,700 square feet of living area, recently opened at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club. * * * Women in Networking (WIN) will meet for breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m on Tuesday. The meeting will be held at the Ramada Hotel, 5015 U.S. 19 in New Port Richey. Guest speaker will be Susan White, president of the United Way of Pasco County. WIN, a group of Pasco businesswomen, meets for breakfast monthly on the third Tuesday of each month. The group welcomes prospective members. Annual dues are $5. This acquisition includes the Suncoast telephone directory and will now be called New Port Richey. All sales, production and distribution for the 2001 directories will be handled by McLeodUSA. * * * Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Society of Accounting and Tax Professionals (FSATP) will have its monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Country Kitchen Restaurant, 3660 Commercial Way at U.S. 19, Spring Hill. The speaker will be Sheryle Birdsong, representing the Florida Department of Labor, Division of Workers' Compensation Compliance.
