Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX

SYSTEM: PlayStation

PRICE: $39.99

MAKER: Acclaim

Acclaim does freestyle BMX justice with a full palette of bikers, bikes, clothes and music, not to mention more than 1,000 tricks and 12 levels that test players' skills with amateur and very tough pro challenges.

Grade: A-

Danger Girl

SYSTEM: PlayStation

PRICE: $39.99

MAKER: THQ

I think this is supposed to be Syphon Filter with female spies. Players sneak around and shoot enemies, but the action is not nearly as exciting as the game it was modeled after.

Grade: C-

Blitz 2001

SYSTEM: Dreamcast

PRICE: $49.99

MAKER: Midway

This is the third consecutive year for the Blitz series, and not much has changed as far as the general premise goes. However, the refined graphics of the Dreamcast version revitalize this old, no-rules football title.

Grade: B

Blitz 2001

SYSTEM: Nintendo 64

PRICE: $49.99

MAKER: Midway

Unlike the Dreamcast version, the graphics in the N64 version of this game are barely improved and look old. While the game play hasn't changed that much, there are a few new elements, such as an eight-player season mode, and three mini-games, such as a quarterback challenge. But it's not enough to warrant a purchase for players who own a previous version of Blitz.

Grade: C+

Surf Riders

SYSTEM: PlayStation

PRICE: $39.99

MAKER: Ubisoft

PlayStation needed a surfing game, but not this one. In about five minutes, players will have seen everything this game has to offer, such as bad graphics and game play that resembles turning on and off a light switch, up, down, up, down.

Grade: D

MTV Skateboarding

SYSTEM: PlayStation

PRICE: $39.99

MAKER: THQ

This game makes me appreciate how good Tony Hawk Pro Skater is. The skating engine is so bad that players are likely to give up on this one quickly. It's not fun falling all the time.

Grade: D
