ST. PETERSBURG -- Two downtown streets were closed Tuesday for street resurfacing.

Beach Drive was closed from First Avenue S to the Florencia condominiums. Its top layer of asphalt was ground off and replaced. It is scheduled to be reopened today.

Bayshore Drive was closed between Second and Fifth avenues N while contractors laid an inch of new asphalt. That work was to be completed Tuesday afternoon.
