Stat of the weekLecanto leading rushers Terence Hollis, Anwar Nunn and Jarvis Patterson have combined for 967 yards and seven touchdowns. Nate Madison, Crystal River's top rusher, has 912 yards and 15 TDs despite having 69 fewer carries than the Lecanto trio. Quote of the week"I didn't think I could do anything like that. Six sacks in a game -- that's kind of unheard of." Lance Holland, Central linebacker Tonight's gamesWHO: Lecanto at Crystal River. WHEN: 7:30 RECORDS: Lecanto 0-6, 0-3; Crystal River 6-0, 3-0. LAST YEAR: Crystal River won 40-7. LAST WEEK: Both teams were idle. NOTABLE: This is a Class 3A, District 5 game. Crystal River can clinch at least a share of the title with a win. Lecanto has no postseason hopes, but does have visions of playing the role of spoiler. Crystal River has demolished every team it has played, and that doesn't bode well for Lecanto, which has struggled in recent weeks. The Panthers lost three second-half leads in their first five games, but were crushed by Central 46-0 two weeks ago. The good news: Central is one of the best squads around. The bad news: Crystal River is the best team around. WHO: Citrus at Central. WHEN: 7:30. RECORDS: Citrus 3-3, 2-1; Central 6-1, 2-1. LAST YEAR: Citrus won 31-15. LAST WEEK: Citrus was idle. Central defeated Cypress Lake 12-6. NOTABLE: This is a Class 3A, District 5 game. It's much more important for Citrus. Because of the state's at-large formula, teams that don't finish first or second in district play can reach the playoffs if they have strong overall records. A loss would put pressure on Citrus to win all of its remaining games. With the exception of a stunning 14-7 loss to Hernando, Central has been outstanding. The Bears outscored their six other opponents 205-39. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • Tampa Bay Times
