Louisiana-Monroe at UCF

WHEN/WHERE: 4 p.m.; Citrus Bowl, Orlando.

RECORDS: ULM 1-4, UCF 3-3.

COACHES: ULM -- Bobby Keasler (7-20, third season). UCF -- Mike Kruczek (23-16, fourth season).

NOTES: What a week it's been for Central Florida. First the Knights hear a report that the program will join the Mid-American Conference for 2002, ending the school's long quest for conference affiliation. Then the rankings have UCF 21st in the nation in total defense and 19th against the pass. The unit has allowed seven points and 341 yards in the past two games. That ranking could rise after today; last season UCF beat Louisiana-Monroe 55-0 for homecoming.

Norfolk State at Florida A&M

WHEN/WHERE: 3 p.m.; Bragg Memorial Stadium, Tallahassee.

RECORDS: NSU 3-2, 1-2 MEAC; FAMU 4-2, 4-1.

COACHES: NSU -- Maurice "Mo" Forte (8-19, third season). FAMU -- Billy Joe (67-25, eighth season).

NOTES: It's homecoming in Tallahassee, and that means it's time for a traditional homecoming foe. But Florida A&M can't afford to take any Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game lightly after losing last week's conference showdown 55-23 to North Carolina A&T. Norfolk State never has beaten FAMU, going 0-4 in the series, and the Rattlers are 38-8 in homecoming games since 1955.
