Houston-based David Weekley Homes, which builds in seven subdivisions in Hillsborough County, is making its first foray into Pinellas in two new developments.

A neotraditional project with homes similar to those that Weekley builds in West Park Village at Westchase in Hillsborough will rise at the existing subdivision called Traditions on Oakhurst Road just north of Park Boulevard in Seminole. Weekley, which entered the Tampa Bay market in 1997, has taken that project over from the previous developer, BTC Development.

There will be nine floor plans ranging in size from 2,400 to 3,700 square feet. Some will have front-entry garages, others will have rear-loaded garages on alleys. Pricing has not been set yet.

"We're one minute from the beach," marketing director Jennifer Bosek said.

For information on Traditions, call (727) 397-9727.

In far north Pinellas, where the conventional wisdom is that it is "built out" and there's not a square inch of land to be had, Weekley and Nohl Crest Homes are joining to build 92 homes on an unbuilt parcel at Lansbrook, the master-planned development adjacent to East Lake High School.

The project is known as Northfield at Lansbrook.

Weekley will start construction this month on its model, a seven-bedroom, four-bath home.

The company will offer nine floor plans, ranging in size from 2,400 to 3,500 square feet. Pricing has not been set yet.

For information about the Weekley homes, contact the model at Villarosa in northwest Hillsborough: (813) 926-2217.

Nohl Crest is about to start work on four models ranging from 2,300 to 3,500 square feet. The homes will be priced between $275,000 and $350,000, said spokeswoman Judy Preston.

For Nohl Crest information, call (727) 786-5585.

The development of a new project in North Pinellas is "a prime selling feature," Bosek said. "We're one of the only new communities in that area."
