DADE CITY -- Pasco committed to stopping Blake's potent passing attack, so the Yellow Jackets handed the ball to tailback Rashaun Grant early, often and effectively in this Class 3A, District 6 win.

He pounded the Pirates' thin defensive front, rushing 25 times for 216 of his team's 305 ground yards.

Yet Pasco kept the score close, cutting the lead to 14-9 on Kenny Roberts' 1-yard plunge in the third quarter and taking advantage of Blake's 12 penalties.

But Pirate quarterback Ben Alford threw two interceptions in the last five minutes that resulted in Yellow Jackets' touchdowns.

PLAY OF THE GAME: A crucial Pasco miscue, a bobbled punt snap in the end zone that resulted in a safety, cut the first quarter lead to 3-2 and gave Blake the momentum.

PLAYERS OF THE GAME: Grant, who scored on runs of 45, 25 and 30 yards.

KEY STATISTIC: The Yellow Jackets' offensive machine piled up 431 yards.
