Temple Heights 56, Northside Chr. 14

TAMPA -- Temple Heights (5-2) exploded for 42 points in the second half to break a close game open. Junior defensive back Ryan Edmonds returned interceptions 57 and 34 yards for touchdowns while junior Federico Blychanto rushed for two touchdowns.

PLAY OF THE GAME: Near the end of the third quarter, Northside was forced to punt from its 30-yard line. On the ensuing play, Blychanto rushed for a 50-yard touchdown as the clock expired.

PLAYER OF THE GAME: Edmonds scored three touchdowns, running for one in addition to the two interception returns. He finished with 143 total yards.

KEY STATISTIC: Temple Heights rushed 52 times for 334 yards.

THEY SAID IT: "I was not happy with our level of effort in the first half. We did not play with enough intensity. Our defense came out in the second half to answer our challenge." -- Temple Heights coach Steve Lewis.
