Style watchBy Compiled from Times wires © St. Petersburg Times, published October 22, 2000 WHAT LIES UNDERNEATH: Two brands known for outerwear have developed underwear to complement their women's fashions: Tommy Hilfiger offers an intimate apparel line that's both luxurious and functional. Sleek, flirty bras and camisoles in animal prints, paisley or solid mesh colors hug the body and match boy short undies. Hilfiger intimates sell for $8 to $30. Express presents its "first layer of fashion," designed to go under Express clothing, which often includes sheer fabrics and fine knits. The underwear sells for $10 to $30. TIGHTS DO DOUBLE DUTY: As cooler weather arrives and women brace for battles with dry skin, Hanes Hosiery has launched a new line of tights as a weapon. Hanes Silk Reflections Opaque Tights With Moisturizer have tiny microbeads within the fabric. The invisible beads release a hypoallergenic moisturizer onto the skin throughout the day. The effect survives five hand-washings of the tights, the company says. © St. Petersburg Times. All rights reserved. |
