Golf tournament to help future art students

The Brandon League of Fine Arts will hold its second annual Golf Tournament on Thursday at Buckhorn Springs Golf and Country Club, 2721 S Miller Road. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m.; shotgun start is at 1 p.m. Cost is $60 per player, which includes greens fee, cart, range balls and buffet dinner. A separate dinner ticket can be purchased for $20. Other activities include a silent auction and putting contest. Proceeds will go to scholarships for students who are planning a career in the arts. Fundraiser to benefit center for children

St. John Presbyterian Learning Center will hold its second annual Year of the Child Testimonial Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Monday at Higgins Hall, 5225 Himes Ave. Tickets are $35. Clifford Sample Drive traffic is meeting topic

Hillsborough County staff will hold a public meeting to discuss traffic problems along Clifford Sample Drive from Causeway Boulevard to Libby Lane. The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the cafeteria at E.L. Bing Elementary School, 6409 36th Ave. S. A recommendation to county commissioners on solving this traffic problem will be based on this meeting. For information, call (813) 272-5275.
