Army Pvt. Casey M. Holt graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. She is the daughter of Thomas Pritchard and granddaughter of Jean Pritchard, both of Tampa. She is a 1999 graduate of of Brewster Technical High School, Tampa.

Air Force Airman Amel Morales graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Maria M. Morales, Tampa. He is a 1999 graduate of Jefferson High School, Tampa.

Army Pvt. Nelson Rodriguez graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Sylvia Ortiz, Tampa, and a 1999 graduate of Blake High School, Tampa.

Marine Corps Pfc. Alfredo M. Roque reported for duty with Headquarters and Service Battalion, 3rd Force Service Support Group, Okinawa, Japan. He is a 1996 graduate of Tampa Bay Technical High School, Tampa.

Army Pvt. Carlo A. Serrano graduated from the traffic management coordinator advanced individual training course at Fort Eustis, Newport News, Va. He is the son of Patrick and Pearl Neal, Tampa.

Army Pfc. Christopher W. Scheirer graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. He is the son of Andrew and Donna Scheirer, Dover. He is a 2000 graduate of Durant High School.

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Heather J. Pearson graduated from the satellite and wideband communications equipment apprentice course at Fort Gordon, Augusta, Ga. She is the daughter of Steve Pearson, Tampa, and Randi J. Pearson, Cincinnati. She is a 1998 graduate of Lakota High School, West Chester, Ohio.

Marine Lance Cpl. James Pruitt deployed to Grenada in May to join the Joint Task Force Midas, a group of 150 Marines, airmen, and soldiers working to build a school, a community center and a police barracks to benefit the people of the island nation. He is the son of James and Beverly Pruitt, Gibsonton.

Army PFC Christopher M. Benjamin graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky. He is the son of Sheri L. and Rick R. Benjamin, Riverview.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Bradley M. Butler graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Sue E. Butler, Seffner. He is a 1999 graduate of Armwood High School, Seffner.

Army National Guard Pvt. Michael L. Davis graduated from basic military training at Fort Leonard Wood, Waynesville, Mo. He is the son of Felisha M. Davis and grandson of Mary C. Johnson, both of Tampa. He is a student at Tampa Bay Technical High School.

Army Pvt. Robert E. Ferguson II graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky. He is the son of Robert E. and Catherine A. Ferguson, Brandon. He is a 1994 graduate of Bloomingdale High School, Valrico.

Marine Corps PFC Michael S. Mero completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C. He is currently in the School of Infantry, Camp Geiger, N.C. Mero is the son of Jim and Pat Mero, Parrish.
