Fire safety materials available from agent

Allstate Insurance agent Julia DeCamp has distributed fire safety materials to the Spring Hill Fire Rescue District and the Hernando County Fire Rescue Services. The material includes programs called "Let's Rap Fire Safety" and "Be Cool About Fire Safety." For more information, call DeCamp at 597-8587.

Arbor Day Foundation offers free redbud trees

The National Arbor Day Foundation is giving away 10 free American redbud trees to anyone who joins the foundation in October. Redbuds have clusters of rosy pink flowers in the spring, dark green leaves in the summer and yellow leaves in the fall. The trees can be shipped in time for the favorable planting period, from Nov. 1 to Dec. 10, with enclosed planting instructions. The 6- to 12-inch trees are guaranteed to grow, or they will be replaced free. To get the free trees, send a $10 membership fee to Ten Redbuds, National Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE 68410 by Oct. 31.

Office moves to Spring Hill

Hernando County Property Appraiser Alvin Mazourek has announced the move of the Tangible Personal Property Department that was in Brooksville. It is now in the Government Center at 7499 Forest Oaks Blvd, Spring Hill. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For information, call 688-5085 or 688-5086.
