Where to find a flu shot

  • ASK YOUR DOCTOR: Many physicians give flu shots to their patients. Most will be covered by health plans.
  • ASK A PHARMACIST: Grocery, drug and discount stores where you pick up prescriptions often schedule days for shots.
  • www.findaflushot.com: Type in your ZIP code and up pop the locations nearest you. The Web site, sponsored by Maxim Health Systems, lists groceries, drug stores and others.
  • ALBERTSON'S INC.: Phone 1-800-783-0458 "Flu Line" or visit www.savon.com to enter ZIP code.
  • ECKERD CORP.: Phone 1-800-325-3737 (press 1 for English or 2 for Spanish, then 4) to find a flu shot at a store near you.
  • PUBLIX: Phone 1-877-629-3580 to find a flu shot at a store near you.
  • PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENTS: Go to government listings in the phone book, look for your county, then Health Department. Most have multiple locations and days for flu shots.
  • www.cdc.gov/nip/flu: U.S. Centers for Disease Control posts the latest updates on availability of the vaccine and answers to frequently asked questions.
