Flyers end a winless streak at 7

NEW YORK -- Keith Primeau scored 12 seconds in and Simon Gagne had three assists as the Philadelphia Flyers snapped a seven-game winless streak with a 5-4 victory over the Rangers on Tuesday night.

"For the first seven or eight games, I wasn't doing too much," Primeau said. "I was analyzing and thinking and not doing the things I do well."

Mark Recchi, who didn't feel well, was scratched for Philadelphia.

WILD 2, CANADIENS 2: Eric Weinrich's power-play goal with 6:38 left allowed Montreal to remain unbeaten (4-0-1) at home.

Also, Montreal recalled wing Arron Asham from its American Hockey League affiliate in Quebec.

SHARKS 3, HURRICANES 2: Marco Sturm scored his NHL-leading third short-handed goal with 9:52 left for San Jose. The Sharks, the best penalty-killing team in the league, killed off a two-man disadvantage over the final 1:12.

Also, the San Jose City Council approved an early step in a plan to sell the naming rights of San Jose Arena to Compaq Computer Corp. for $47-million.

CANUCKS 4, PREDATORS 4: Brendan Morrison scored with 36.9 seconds left in regulation as visiting Vancouver rallied from a four-goal deficit, including three goals in the third period.

COYOTES 2, FLAMES 2: Landon Wilson of visiting Phoenix scored 8:17 into the third period. Brad May's slap shot hit the glass, came in front of the net and Wilson batted it out of midair.

BRUINS: Defenseman Kyle McLaren is day-to-day with a sore left knee.

CAPITALS: Washington recalled center Terry Yake from its AHL affiliate in Portland and re-assigned center Kris Beech to his junior club, Calgary of the Western Hockey League.

MAPLE LEAFS: Wing Steve Thomas is out 7-10 days with a cut on his right hand.

STARS: Dallas sent right wing Blake Sloan, scoreless in three games, to Houston of the International Hockey League.

KINGS 5, MIGHTY DUCKS 4 (OT): After losing a two-goal lead, visiting Los Angeles needed just 1:04 of overtime to end it, with Ziggy Palffy scoring his eighth goal. Anaheim's Marty McInnis completed a hat trick with 3:20 left in regulation, forcing overtime.
