Inverness Primary School principal to speak at Friendship Dinner

CITRUS HILLS -- Teretta Charles, principal of Inverness Primary School and Altrusa Educator of the Year, will be the featured speaker at a Friendship Dinner at Andre's of Citrus Hills the evening of Nov. 4.

Mrs. Charles will be speaking as a mother and educator on the topic, "It Takes a Village to Raise a Child -- Perspectives on Seeing African-American Males Through Life, by an African-American mother, educator and liturgical leader."

The Friendship Dinner is one of a series sponsored by FOCUS, an organization with the mission of promoting intercultural understanding and friendship.

FOCUS is short for Focus On CommUnity Solidarity and had its beginning in 1998 after a community forum on the subject of "Healing of Racism" sponsored by the InterFaith Council.

Stamp association show set for Sunday at Hernando VFW

HERNANDO -- The Citrus Area Stamp Association holds a stamp show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the VFW Post 4252 on State Road 200, Hernando. The show will include stamps and covers for sale and appraisal. Hourly door prizes and free stamps for children. Free admission. (727) 848-7697.
