Find your way to Founder's Day

New Port Richey marks its own anniversary this weekend with a Founder's Day Celebration, complete with live music, arts and crafts, a Saturday fishing rodeo, a car show, carnival rides and a midway. Hayrides will be offered noon-4 p.m. Saturday. Kayak trips on the Cotee River will be available noon-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The festival, in Sims Park and surrounding areas of downtown New Port Richey, is noon-10 p.m. Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. A $2 donation for admission is requested. Continuous music is scheduled both days, including contemporary Christian artist Mark Schultz, above, who is to perform at 7 p.m. Saturday. The Belaires, a '50s and '60s band, will play Sunday afternoon. The festival begins with a kick-off dinner Friday at 7 p.m. at Johnny Leverock's Seafood House ($35). (727) 842-8066.
