A musical mixed bag -- featuring Destiny's Child, Godsmack, Foghat and Barrio Boyzz -- will be the soundtrack for Ybor's Halloween bash.

In recent years, Guavaween's musical guests have been mostly one-hit wonders.
Now comes a new Ybor City, with a brand new urban mall. Guavaween is keeping up. National acts in a variety of musical genres -- rock, pop, Latin -- dominate this year's lineup. The groups will be performing, along with local entertainment, on four stages. On the WFLZ-FM stage at 9 p.m. is the R&B girl group popular with the MTV crowd, Destiny's Child. Four No. 1 hits have been spun from its CD, The Writing's On the Wall, including Jumpin' Jumpin' and Say My Name.
Originally from Houston, the group began with the friendship of two 8-year-olds, who spent afternoons glued to videotapes of the Supremes and the Jackson Five. A performance on Star Search boosted them to popularity. Currently, the trio, which used to be a quartet, is on tour with another MTV favorite, Christina Aguilera, with whom they recently appeared at Tampa's Ice Palace.
Godsmack, due on the 98 Rock stage at 10:05 p.m., should score with the Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath crowd. Named after a song by Alice in Chains, the Boston-based metal band has produced such angry songs as Sick of Life and Greed. The band's second album, Awake, will be released on Halloween.
Another highlight on 98's stage: Fuel, popular for the hit Sunburn off theScream 3 soundtrack and, of course, heartthrob lead singer Brett Scallions.
On Thunder 103.5's stage, the feature act is Foghat, the '70s rock band that gave us the classic rock staple, Slow Ride, Take It Easy. The original members were mates in Britain, who relocated to the U.S. in the 1970s and built a huge following. Their most recent release is King Biscuit Flower Hour.
On the Telemundo Tropical Amor stage, the spotlight falls on the Latin hip-hop boy band, Barrio Boyzz, known internationally for Ven A Mi (Come to Me) and synchronized dancing.
