PLANTATION BOULEVARD AT ASHBOURNE CIRCLE, OCT. 13, 2:15 A.M.: The driver of a northbound 1987 Ford fell asleep and drove into a tree at 35 mph. The 55-year-old man was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital. 2. BRUCE B. DOWNS BOULEVARD AT TAMPA PALMS BOULEVARD, OCT. 13, 6:19 A.M.: A northbound 1991 Honda entered the intersection on a red light and hit a westbound 1998 Ford making a left turn. The driver of the Honda fled, but the car was found on the side of the road less than a mile north of the scene because a tire came off the car's rim. The driver, a 25-year-old man, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and with running a red light. 3. DALE MABRY HIGHWAY AT HUDSON LANE, OCT. 13, 10:45 A.M.: The driver of an unidentified vehicle traveling north changed lanes, hit a 1999 Oldsmobile and fled the scene. 4. DALE MABRY HIGHWAY AT CARROLLWOOD SPRINGS BOULEVARD, OCT. 13, 12:45 P.M.: A southbound 1995 Dodge turning left overturned after hitting a northbound 1984 Chevrolet. The Dodge driver, a 71-year-old man, was charged with a right of way violation. 5. BRUCE B. DOWNS BOULEVARD AT 131ST AVENUE, OCT. 13, 3:30 P.M.: A northbound 1988 Honda turning left crossed into the path of a southbound 1998 Chrysler. Because of conflicting statements, no charges were filed. The Honda driver, 16, and his passenger, a 16-year-old girl, and the Chrysler passenger, a 7-year-old boy, were taken to Tampa General Hospital and University Community Hospital. 6. GUNN HIGHWAY AT NIXON ROAD, OCT. 13, 3:50 P.M.: An eastbound 1999 Dodge rear-ended a 1997 Toyota stopped at a traffic light. The Dodge driver, 16, said he was "listening to music more than paying attention." He was charged with careless driving. The Toyota driver, a 56-year-old woman, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital. 7. SHELDON ROAD AT MEADOW PARKWAY, OCT. 13, 5:40 P.M.: A northbound 2001 Toyota turned left into the path of a southbound 1989 Mercury, skidding 60 feet before impact. The Mercury driver, a 28-year-old woman, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital. The Toyota driver, a 70-year-old man, was charged with a right of way violation. 8. FLORIDA AVENUE AT LAKE MAGDALENE BOULEVARD, OCT. 13, 6:15 P.M.: An eastbound 1998 Hyundai making a left turn crossed into the path of a southbound 1991 Honda, skidding 45 feet before impact. The Hyundai driver, a 36-year-old man, was charged with a right of way violation. 9. COUNTRYWAY BOULEVARD AT LINEBAUGH AVENUE, OCT. 13, 7:15 P.M.: While crossing Countryway Boulevard to get from one parking lot to another, a westbound 1997 Cadillac traveled into the path of a southbound 1997 Dodge. The Cadillac driver, 53, said trees and shrubs blocked her view of oncoming traffic. She was charged with a right of way violation. The Dodge driver, a 57-year-old woman, and the Cadillac driver were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital. 10. FLETCHER AVENUE AT TELECOM PARKWAY, OCT. 13, 8:18 P.M.: An eastbound 1999 Ford turned left into the path of a westbound 1988 Audi. The Ford driver, a 47-year-old man, was charged with a right of way violation. The injured were taken to University Community Hospital. 11. FLETCHER AVENUE AT NORTH PALM DRIVE, OCT. 13, 8:50 P.M.: A 14-year-old boy crossing Fletcher Avenue was hit by an eastbound 1997 Acura traveling about 35 mph. The boy was flown to Tampa General Hospital, where he later died. The Acura driver, a 25-year-old man, was not charged. 12. HILLSBOROUGH AVENUE AT SILVERMILL ROAD, OCT. 14, 12:30 A.M.: A northbound 1991 Honda made a right turn into the center lane of Hillsborough Avenue and collided with a 1999 Nissan traveling in that lane. The Honda driver, a 20-year-old man, was charged with a right of way violation. 13. NORTHDALE BOULEVARD AT DALE MABRY HIGHWAY, OCT. 14, 10:50 A.M.: While traveling in the Northdale Court Shopping Center, a 1999 Kawasaki fell on its side after riding over a speed bump. 14. 12TH STREET AT 138TH AVENUE, OCT. 14, 11:29 A.M.: A westbound 1992 Cadillac turned south onto 12th Street, left the road and hit a TECO pole. The driver, a 47-year-old man, was taken to the VA Medical Center. 15. FLETCHER AVENUE AT 23RD STREET, OCT. 14, 12:45 P.M.: A 1997 Mitsubishi rear-ended a 1999 Toyota. The Mitsubishi driver, a 25-year-old man, was charged with careless driving. 16. DALE MABRY HIGHWAY AT EHRLICH ROAD, OCT. 14, 1:12 P.M.: A southbound 1994 Ford rear-ended a 1993 Nissan, which was then pushed into a 1995 Mazda. The Ford driver, a 16-year-old boy, was charged with careless driving. 17. FLETCHER AVENUE AT 22ND STREET, OCT. 14, 1:25 P.M.: A southbound 1999 Honda turned left into the path of a westbound 1992 Mazda, which skidded 40 feet before impact. The Mazda driver, a 64-year-old woman, was charged with having an expired tag. The Honda driver was accused of failing to yield the right of way. The injured were taken to University Community Hospital. 18. EHRLICH ROAD AT DALE MABRY HIGHWAY, OCT. 14, 3 P.M.: An eastbound 1993 Ford rear-ended a 1995 Toyota stopped for traffic. After impact, a 1997 Dodge rear-ended the Ford. The Ford driver, an 18-year-old woman, and the Dodge driver, a 19-year-old man, were charged with following too closely. 19. BEARSS AVENUE AT NEBRASKA AVENUE, OCT. 15, 1:10 P.M.: After a 1966 Chevrolet turned left onto Bearss Avenue, a passenger door opened and the 64-year-old passenger fell from the vehicle. She was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital. 20. FLORIDA AVENUE AT APRIL LANE, OCT. 15, 8:04 P.M.: An eastbound 1997 Saturn making a left turn onto Florida Avenue crossed into the path of a southbound 2000 Honda traveling 45 mph. The Honda swerved, hit the Saturn, continued into the northbound lanes and struck the rear of a 1994 Ford. The Saturn driver, a 17-year-old girl, was cited with a right of way violation. The Honda driver and passenger, both 25-year-old women, and the Saturn driver were taken to University Community Hospital. 21. COMPTON HEIGHTS PLACE AT CORAL BAY ROAD, OCT. 16, 10:45 A.M.: An unknown vehicle hit the driver's side door of a 1999 Mercury parked improperly along the curb in an apartment complex. 22. FLETCHER AVENUE AT LIVINGSTON AVENUE, OCT. 16, 12:15 P.M.: A westbound 1999 Pontiac entered the safety zone and hit a 1994 Oldsmobile making a left turn from a private driveway. The Pontiac driver, a 20-year-old woman, was charged with driving within a safety zone. She was taken to University Community Hospital. 23. SHELDON ROAD AT WATERS AVENUE, OCT. 16, 3:35 P.M.: A northbound 1997 Pontiac turning left crossed into the path of a southbound 1997 Nissan, which skidded 50 feet before impact. The Pontiac driver, a 37-year-old woman, was charged with a right of way violation. 24. 15TH STREET AT 131ST AVENUE, OCT. 16, 6:05 P.M.: A northbound 1988 Honda rear-ended a 1995 Chevrolet stopped for traffic. The impact pushed the Chevrolet into a 1997 Saturn. The Honda driver, a 24-year-old woman, was charged for driving with a suspended license and careless driving. The Chevrolet passenger, a 23-year-old man, was taken to University Community Hospital. 25. COUNTRYWAY BOULEVARD AT HILLSBOROUGH AVENUE, OCT. 16, 7 P.M.: The 14-year-old driver of a westbound 2000 Mazda made a right turn onto Countryway Boulevard, entered the median and hit a brick sign. She was charged with making an improper turn and driving without a license. 26. SAILFISH AVENUE AT LAKE CARLTON DRIVE, OCT. 16, 10:30 P.M.: The 25-year-old driver of a northbound 1996 Toyota overcorrected his steering around a curve and hit a tree. 27. EHRLICH ROAD AT GUNN HIGHWAY, OCT. 17, 2:10 P.M.: An eastbound 1994 Chevrolet turning left onto Gunn Highway was hit by a westbound 1998 Isuzu pickup truck. A passenger in the Chevrolet was injured slightly and treated at the scene. The Isuzu driver, a 16-year-old girl, was charged with violating right of way. 28. PITTSFIELD AVENUE AT TIMBERLAN STREET, OCT. 17, 5:30 P.M.: 8A 15-year-old bicyclist failed to stop at a stop sign and hit the passenger side of a northbound 2000 Chevrolet traveling through the intersection. The bicyclist was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was treated for severe injuries. 29. SHELDON ROAD AT LINEBAUGH AVENUE, OCT. 17, 10:30 P.M.: A southbound 2000 Honda swerved around a stopped car, entered the intersection on a red light and collided with a northbound 1990 Ford turning left onto Linebaugh. The 1990 Ford continued in a southeastern direction and hit a northbound 1992 Ford. The Honda driver, a 17-year-old boy, was charged with running a red light. 30. SOMERFORD PLACE AT WOOD LAKE BOULEVARD, OCT. 18, 12:55 A.M.: A westbound 1999 Ford pickup truck hit a tree after it made a hard left onto Somerford Place. The driver, 28, said he was talking on the phone to his girlfriend at the time but blamed the accident on another vehicle that had run a stop sign. He was injured, yet refused medical treatment. 31. FLETCHER AVENUE AT NEBRASKA AVENUE, OCT. 18, 8:40 A.M.: A westbound 2000 Ford rear-ended a 1999 Nissan stopped for traffic. The driver of the Ford fled the scene. Authorities caught up with the Ford a few hours later and charged its driver, an 18-year-old man, with following too closely and leaving an accident scene. 32. RACE TRACK ROAD AT LINEBAUGH AVENUE, OCT. 18, 10:30 A.M.: A utility trailer that was not secured properly to a southbound 1990 Ford separated from the car and hit a northbound 1997 GMC pickup truck on Race Track Road. The pickup driver swerved to the left but was unable to avoid the crash. The Ford driver, a 34-year-old man, was charged with improper safety chains, no proof of insurance and failing to display a vehicle registration. 33. LOWELL ROAD AT FOUR OAKS ROAD, OCT. 18, 12 P.M.: A northbound 1989 Toyota turned left at the intersection and collided with a westbound 1995 Ford, then spun into a street light. The Toyota driver, a 41-year-old woman, and a 29-year-old Ford passenger suffered minor injuries. The Toyota driver was charged with violating right of way. 34. DALE MABRY HIGHWAY AT FLETCHER AVENUE, OCT. 18, 4:15 P.M.: A southbound 1995 Mercury, driven by a 20-year-old man, rear-ended a 1989 Isuzu truck stopped at a red light. Both drivers were injured and taken to University Community Hospital. The Mercury driver was charged with careless driving. 35. TARPON SPRINGS ROAD AT BLAKE ROAD, OCT. 18, 4:30 P.M.: An eastbound 1999 Toyota pickup rear-ended a 1998 Chevrolet, which then collided head-on with a westbound 1994 Ford pickup. The Chevrolet driver, a 50-year-old man, was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with serious injuries. The Toyota driver, a 36-year-old man, was charged with careless driving. 36. BUSCH BOULEVARD AT TWIN LAKES BOULEVARD, OCT. 18, 5:13 P.M.: An eastbound 2000 Jeep rear-ended a 1992 Honda on Busch Boulevard after the 1992 Honda stopped, then started, then had to stop again for traffic. Two passengers in the Honda, one of them a 4-year-old child, may have suffered injuries in the crash.
