Magazine recognizes Brooksville entrepreneur

Brooksville entrepreneurs don't often make the covers of national magazines, but Barbara Manzi did.
Manzi was recognized by Black Enterprise magazine as Business Innovator of the Year. Her Brooksville company, Manzi Metals, was one of four small businesses profiled in the November issue. Manzi's $4.3-million company distributes metals to aerospace and commercial aviation manufacturers.
This year, Manzi Metals received ISO 9002 designation, a status awarded by an international standards committee that certifies quality. According to Manzi, her company is the only black- and woman-owned U.S. distribution center that carries such a status.
