© St. Petersburg Times, Fire, police personnel, military to be honoredWEEKI WACHEE -- Weeki Wachee Springs will host Fire, Rescue and Law Enforcement Appreciation Days on Saturday and Sunday and Armed Forces Appreciation Days on Nov. 10 and 11. All fire, rescue and law enforcement personnel and their children (ages 10 and under) will be admitted free to the attraction Saturday and Sunday. Other adult family members will receive $5 off the regular $15.95 admission price. On Nov. 10 and 11, anyone with proof of past or present military experience will be admitted free, as well as their children who are 10 years old or younger. Rescheduled golf event will be held Nov. 11SPRING HILL -- The Wal-Mart SuperCenter's second charity scramble golf tournament for the Make-a-Wish Foundation has been rescheduled for Nov. 11 at Silverthorn Golf and Country Club, off Barclay Avenue. The event was originally scheduled for Sept. 29, but was postponed after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The cost is $55 per person, which includes greens fees and cart, range balls, a barbecue buffet and door prizes. Cash prizes and pro shop gift certificates will be awarded. The cost of the dinner only is $12. A shotgun start will be at 1 p.m. The dinner will follow the tournament and will include a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle. Sponsorships are still available. Hole sponsorships are $50. Corporate sponsorships, which include two holes and two entry fees, are $150. Door prizes and gift certificates are also needed, as well as businesses interested in donating "goodie bags" to be distributed to the golfers. Entry forms are available at the Wal-Mart SuperCenter, 13300 Cortez Blvd. Checks are to be made payable to Wal-Mart SuperCenter/Make a Wish. Friends of the Library presents 1940s musicSPRING HILL -- Friends of the Library of Hernando County will present "The Music of the '40s," featuring the Jazz Company Swing Band from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Library Book Corner in Spring Hill Plaza, Spring Hill Drive.
