Here is Saturday's schedule of Guavaween events for families in the daytime, and adults in the evening. Events take place throughout the streets of Ybor City (see parking map). For more information, call (813) 242-4828.
DAYTIME: One of the biggest changes in Guavaween over the years has been the addition of the Guavaween Family FunFest. Admission is free to those in costume and $2 for everyone else.
Along with amusement rides, hay rides and the like, the first 100 attendees to show up at the MORE-TV 32 table get a free pumpkin.
11 a.m. Kicks off the Guavaween Family FunFest with local dance schools performing Halloween-themed programs on the MORE-TV 32 stage, and an Eckerd Safe Trick or Treat.
NOON: Barnes & Noble presents Spooky Story Time while PrimeCo hosts a Silly Scavenger Hunt.
3 p.m. Children's costume contest parade on the MORE-TV 32 stage.
EVENING: Given the drinking, partial nudity and general debauchery of Guavaween evening, it's best to take the kids home before 4 p.m., when the grown-up activities starts.
Admission is $6 in advance at Features Costumes shop (3015 Barcelona West) and $8 at Ticketmaster and at the door.
TRANSPORTATION SERVICES: Tampa Port Authority is offering a park-and-ride service for $10, not including admission to Guavaween.
