    Train kills man lying on tracks

    BRANDON -- An unidentified man was killed after being struck by a freight train early Sunday, Hillsborough County Sheriff's officials said.

    The conductor of the westbound CSX Railroad train carrying 99 cars spotted the man lying still on the tracks at approximately 2:30 a.m. The death occurred just north of Highway 60 (Brandon Boulevard) near the intersection of Sadie Street and Kingsway Road.

    The man was described as white and in his thirties. Sheriff's officials said they do not suspect foul play. An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

    Man who died in fire identified as transient

    ST. PETERSBURG -- A man killed in a suspicious fire has been identified as Terry Duke Coston, 33. St. Petersburg police said he was a transient.

    Coston's badly burned body was found inside a garage at 1145 Newton Ave. S. after it was destroyed early Friday. He was identified by his fingerprints.

    Arson and homicide investigators are conducting a joint investigation into the fire's causes. The residents of the home told authorities they did not know anyone was staying in the garage.
