Democratic rally held in front of NAACP

BROOKSVILLE -- A Democratic rally will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in front of the NAACP headquarters, 808 Josephine St., at Summit Road. For information, call 666-8866.

Teachers association rallies for education

BROOKSVILLE -- The Hernando County Classroom Teachers Association will have a rally to support public education from 4:30 to 5 p.m. Friday on the old courthouse steps, 20 N Main St. A social will follow from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Main Street Eatery. There will be free food and door prizes.

Carlson meets with interested voters

BROOKSVILLE -- The public is invited to meet Carey Carlson, Republican candidate for Hernando County Commission District 3, from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Deep South Barbecue on Cortez Boulevard, about 2 miles east of the State Road 50 Truck Route.

Women's Club sponsors 'old-fashioned' rally

SPRING HILL -- A Democratic "Old-Fashioned Political Rally" will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday in Delta Woods Park on Deltona Boulevard. There will be hot dogs, soda and music. The event is sponsored by the Democratic Women's Club of Hernando County. For information, call 666-8866. -- Political Notebook will run periodically during the campaign season.
