    Awards

    Army Spec. Joshua Zeldin was awarded the Army Green to Gold Scholarship. The Army's Green to Gold program allows soldiers on active duty to apply for early separation to attend college full time. Zeldin served three years in Fort Riley, Kan., as a Stinger team chief in Battery C/1-4 Air Defense Artillery. While there, he did rotations to the National Training Center in California and did a tour of Intrinsic Action in Kuwait. Zeldin plans to attend St. Leo University and the University of South Florida. Upon completion of his studies, he plans to return to the Army as an officer. Zeldin is the son of Lloyd and Felice Zeldin of Dunedin, husband of Lisa Zeldin and father of Joey Zeldin.

    Completion of training

    Navy Airman Apprentice Warren E. Browett has completed rescue aviation swimmer training at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola. After completing additional training, Browett will assume his duties as rescue swimmer. Browett, a 2000 graduate of Largo High School, is the son of Lawrence and Michelle Browett of Largo and Debra A. Bennett of St. Petersburg.

    Marine Pvt. Justin R. Ellery completed boot camp at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, S.C., where he received sharpshooter recognition. He will report for infantry duty at at Camp Geiger in North Carolina. Ellery, a 2001 graduate of East Lake High School, is the son of Karen M. Ellery and the late Philip J. Ellery Jr. of Oldsmar.
