PEBBLE CREEK -- The school district has scheduled a community meeting to discuss the configuration of the new elementary school opening next fall in Tampa Palms to relieve crowding at Tampa Palms Elementary School.
Superintendent Earl Lennard said the meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the cafeteria at Wharton High School, 20150 Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.
At issue is whether to open a standard kindergarten-through-fifth-grade school or combine the two elementary schools, with younger students at one and older students at the other. The two sites are separated by Bruce B. Downs Boulevard.
Lennard plans to make a recommendation to the School Board on Nov. 14.
