Homecoming is the key

It took a special occasion, but the South Florida students finally came out in force to watch the Bulls play Saturday night. While student attendance hasn't been anything to brag about this year, Saturday night's showing was impressive - and record breaking. Student attendance exceeded 6,000, according to university officials, making it the largest student crowd since the inaugural game in 1997. The homecoming celebration brought out students wearing Mardi Gras beads, bodies painted green and gold with bull horns on their heads.

Ahhhh, now this is home

After playing last week in 48-degree weather and winds gusting to 35 mph, the Bulls were back in the friendly, warm confines of Raymond James Stadium. The temperature at game time (78 degrees) was 30 degrees warmer than the starting time last week.

Cheerleader love

Fans witnessed an engagement when USF cheerleader Adam Pate proposed to fellow cheerleader Priscilla Webster on the sideline early in the fourth quarter. The engagement was complete with Pate on bended knee, flowers - and a diamond that glistened brightly on Buc Vision TV.

Quotable

"The offensive line gets the game ball tonight. They had all these different things (from WKU's defense) coming at them and they picked up everything. They worked their tail off.'' - receiver Charlie Jackson.
