Deep Fighter

SYSTEM: Dreamcast

PRICE: $49.99

MAKER: Ubisoft

This shooter takes players underwater with 36 missions and eight bosses. With great British acting and eight vehicles for fulfilling objectives, Deep Fighter has serious depth.

Grade: B+

Street Fighter 3: Third Strike

SYSTEM: Dreamcast

PRICE: $49.99

MAKER: Capcom

Capcom delivers with another excellent fighter that includes four new characters and beautifully hued backgrounds. On the other hand, it's not that different from the last Street Fighter.

Grade: B

Buzz Lightyear Star Command

SYSTEM: PlayStation

PRICE: $39.99

MAKER: Activision

This take on Disney's new cartoon series has Buzz Lightyear running through levels in races against evil boss characters. Players who enjoyed CrashBandicoot will want to check this one out, if only as a rental.

Grade: C+

Ridge Racer V

SYSTEM: PlayStation 2

PRICE: $49.99

MAKER: Namco

The first racer for the PS2 has photo-realistic graphics and touch-sensitive controls that turn the controller buttons into an accelerator and brake. There are a few issues with oversteering, though, and with Gran Turismo 3 on the horizon, players may want to wait.

Grade: B

MotoGP

SYSTEM: PlayStation 2

PRICE: $49.99

MAKER: Namco

MotoGP offers a unique racing experience, with cycles that handle differently than the cars in other racing games and tracks modeled after real-life venues. While fun, non-racing fans may tire of the realism.

Grade: B

Tekken Tag Tournament

SYSTEM: PlayStation 2

PRICE: $49.99

MAKER: Namco

Tekken Tag is a must-have for fighting fans, with stunning visual effects and two-on-two action. There's a training mode that will teach beginners all the combos they need to know to succeed.

Grade: A
