SEMINOLE -- Veterans Day will be observed Monday at the VA Medical Center at Bay Pines, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd.

The program will be at 9 a.m. behind the medical center's nursing home unit. Parade participants will meet at 8 a.m.

The parade is organized by the Pinellas County Veterans Liaison Council, in association with the VA Medical Center.

This year's theme is "We Still Remember, We Still Care," focusing on the Vietnam War.

Retired Brig. Gen. Thomas Draude, U.S. Marine Corps, will give the keynote address.

Draude, who graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1962, served more than 30 years in the Marines, including three tours in Vietnam. He was the assistant division commander of the First Marine Division during Desert Storm.

He is now senior vice president of the USAA Insurance Co., Southeast Region in Tampa.
