Quail Hollow Elementary: "Booktalkers" will present the play, Morgan and the Pot 'O Brains at 10 a.m. today and Thursday. Book Fair ends Friday. National Story Telling Week will be celebrated Monday through Nov. 17. Fall Field Day, Nov. 21.

Sand Pine Elementary: McCrane Night, 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Pebble Creek McDonalds on Bruce B. Downs Blvd.

Pasco Hernando Community College will hold an information session for current and prospective students from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in room A222 at the Dade City Campus, 36727 Blanton Rd. Career counseling and financial aid information will be available as well as the class schedule for the Spring 2001 semester.

PTA/PTSA County Council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Land O'Lakes Community Center, 5401 Land O'Lakes Blvd., Land O'Lakes.

The District School Board is seeking retired veterans, social studies educators, college professors and foreign service corps/Peace Corps members to share their experiences as classroom presenters during Veterans Day and Memorial Day Activities. West Zephyrhills Elementary School Student Council Officers: President: Stephanie Hartman, Vice president: Caitlyn Ungerer, Secretary: Natalie Wells, Treasurer: Kelsey Fisher. Teacher sponsors are Sandy Feldman and Adrianna Zambrano. Paul Benford, a student at Land O'Lakes High School, has been named a Commended Student in the 2001 National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended students place among the top 5 percent of more than 1-million students entering the program by taking the 1999 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Sand Pine Elementary Star Students of the Month for October: Taylor Hixson, Brandon Mumaw, Jennifer Passafume, Nicole Eiland, Michael Battaglini, Luke Fisk, Michael Gonzalez. Pasco Middle School has been named the recipient of a $1,000 grant by the Southwest Florida Water Management District. The Florida SchoolYards program will fund a learning area that will feature a landscape using native plants, low maintenance ornamentals and water-saving irrigation techniques. Local environmental experts will also teach and promote concepts of environmental landscape management and pollution prevention.
