The Pinellas Association for Retarded Children is calling for volunteers for the Team SeaView 2000 APBA/UIM Offshore World Championships on Nov. 17, 18 and 19. The powerboat racing will be held along St. Petersburg's downtown waterfront. Help is needed to staff spectator food and ticket booths. For information, call 345-9111, ext. 293. ALPHA "A Beginning" Inc., an organization designed to provide support to teenage women who are homeless and pregnant, will hold a volunteer orientation from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 18 at 701 Fifth Ave. N, St. Petersburg. Volunteer opportunities include front desk reception, babysitting, mentoring and community outreach assistance.
