2A-5 meet

TEAMS: Gulf, Hudson, Land O'Lakes, Mitchell, Ridgewood, River Ridge, Countryside, Dunedin, East Lake and Tarpon Springs.

WHERE: Long Center in Clearwater.

SCHEDULE: Diving at 1 p.m. Friday; swimming at 9 a.m.

NEED TO KNOW: Top three in each event qualify for state meet. Additionally, top 10 overall best times in the state from places 4th-6th qualify. Land O'Lakes and Ridgewood are among the contending teams for a district title with Hudson's boys and River Ridge's girls as long shots. A Pasco victory would give the county its first district champion.

WHERE: Gaines Pool, Winter Haven.

SCHEDULE: Diving at 1 p.m. Saturday; swimming at 9 a.m.

NEED TO KNOW: Zephyrhills is the lone Pasco team. Winter Haven and Lake Region should battle for the title. Zephyrhills' best bets to advance are freestyler Trevor Tenbrink, relay swimmers Travis Tenbrink, Kyle Bruce, Marky Beverlin, Kevin Demers, Carissa Foster and diver Valerie Beverlin.
