HUDSON -- Between 25,000 and 30,000 people are expected to attend the 17th annual Hudson Seafest during its four-day run that starts at 6 p.m. today and ends at 5 p.m. Sunday.

Seafest raises funds to improve sidewalks and landscaping in the Hudson area, provide scholarships, and repair homes of the elderly.

It's being held at the former Scotty's site on U.S. 19 between State Road 52 and Beacon Woods Drive. Parking is at the empty outlet mall on the east side of U.S. 19 north off Beacon Woods Drive. A free shuttle bus will take Seafest patrons to and from the festival site.

The festival features entertainment, a small crafts show, a carnival midway and, of course, the Seafest grouper dinners at $8 a plate, $4 for sandwiches and other festival food. Hours are 6 to 10 p.m. today, 5 to 11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Tonight is Family Night, both at the carnival, where a $12 wristband is worth unlimited midway rides, and on the Big Tent's stage, where the entertainment will be provided by Spats-Cats, For Kids Only and Jubilation from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday's entertainment lineup has country singer John Wayne Wilkinson followed by the country, rock and blues band Zack Taylor.

On Saturday, live music goes from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., with a wide assortment of styles, including jazz and calypso, culminating with country singer Wilkinson and the headliners, Wiley Fox Band.

Sunday will honor veterans as the 42nd Street Big Band plays a Veterans' Day Salute from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Admission to the festival is free; a $1 parking fee is requested.
