NEW RECIPES
The old NK Cafe is trucking down the street to new digs. Last week Sid and Rita Hattab closed the former location, open in the Transworld Center since 1972, and will reopen soon at 3212 W Kennedy, Tampa. They hope to reopen Jan. 7. The fave item will be the same as always: steamed veggies.

McDonald's will install golden arches and a juke box in a high-nostalgia design at Park and Starkey in Seminole this winter.
DELI TO GO
Lucky Dill, the SRO deli in Palm Harbor, sets up shop at 400 N Tampa St. in downtown Tampa this month. The new spot will have a full deli menu, plus burgers and a bakery to turn out rye bread, napoleons and black and whites. Jason Mitow, who runs the family's Lucky Dill Burgers, hopes for a busy lunch sparked by Palm Harbor Dill fans who commute downtown; valet parking at night should draw a dinner crowd.
I've had enough . . .
Updates on the progress of my food. I might be glad a fresh pot of coffee has been started, but not that "Your food will be out in five minutes" or "They're baking more bread right now." Stop by with more bread, drinks or water or to apologize for a delay if you wish, but I'm not curious about why the kitchen's late. It is, and we're still hungry.
