I'LL HAVE ANOTHER . . .
Reservation at casual restaurants. Bonefish Grill (5901 Fourth St. N, St. Petersburg; (727) 521-3434) now sets aside tables for customers who call a day or two ahead (and better show up). Those who wait get complementary samples. Good idea for any place with major waits.
New in town
Add two more Outback partners to the corral on Boy Scout Road in Tampa. Former Bucs great Lee Roy Selmon's, (813) 871-3287, gives uptown space to Southern comforts of ribs, catfish, oysters, gumbo, beans, greens and grits.
Yes, there's a sports bar -- and a $63 "huddle" barbecue for four. Entrees, $9.99 to $17.69.
Fleming's Steakhouse & Wine Bar, (813) 874-9463, aims to prove high-end beef's not just for guys: brighter decor, smaller cuts, no smoking, better salads, 100 wines by the glass.
Outback teams here with Paul (P.F. Chang's) Fleming and Bill Allen. Entrees are $17.50 to $26.95; sides, $4.50 up.
New Gardenia
Tom and Emily Golden's Blue Gardenia, former pride of Safety Harbor, has blossomed since replanting to Hyde Park (1809 W Platt St., Tampa; (813) 250-1595).
Same warm chocolate cake, but salads are lively and duck breast's pink and spicy. Best bites were from a delicate shellfish soup perfumed with saffron.
