© St. Petersburg Times, Weekend events Tonight AUTO RACING: The Citrus County Speedway program will consist of short-track stock car racing in the Late Model, Sportsman, Street Stock, Hobby Stock, Mini Stock, Thunder Stock and Figure 8 classes, in addition to Open Powder Puff races and a display of Dale Earnhardt's 1988 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The quarter-mile track is 2 miles south of Inverness off U.S. 41 at the fairgrounds. Gates open at 4 p.m., and the first heat race is at 6:30. Admission: Adult general, $10; seniors and students to age 17, $8; children under 10, $2; under-12 child with paid adult, free; pits, $20. ClubsTHE PEDAL BOATS CLUB: A fee is charged, and watercraft are available. Informal gatherings include weekend cruising, nature site visits and fun racing for free. Kayakers are welcome. THE WEST PASCO AUDUBON SOCIETY, a chapter of the Florida and National Audubon Society, meets on the second Thursday of each month (except for April, July and August) at 7:30 p.m. at the Community Congregational Church, 6533 Circle Blvd. in downtown New Port Richey.
