Florida Hall of Fame

Fernando Bujones, a world-renowned ballet artist, and Lou Jacobs, a professional clown, are the 2002 inductees into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame. Bujones, currently artistic director of Southern Ballet Theatre in Orlando, has performed and choreographed works with leading ballet companies in the United States and Europe. Jacobs (1901-1992), who toured with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, was founding professor of Clown College in Venice, Fla.

The Florida Hall of Fame was established by the Florida Legislature in 1986 to recognize artists of renown in all disciplines who have made significant contributions to the arts in Florida. Previous inductees include musician Ray Charles, writer Ernest Hemingway and artists Duane Hanson and James Rosenquist.

Rollins elected FAMDA president

Ken Rollins, director of the Gulf Coast Museum of Art in Largo, has accepted a two-year term as director of the Florida Art Museum Directors' Association. The organization serves as a networking and advocacy source for the state's art museums. He previously served a term as president in 1989-91.
