Jared Diamond, professor of physiology at the UCLA School of Medicine, will talk about his Pulitzer Prize-winning book Guns, Germs and Steel at 8 p.m. Thursday in the Raymond James Room of Fox Hall. In his book, Diamond offers an explanation for why the Europeans and Asians conquered Africa, Australia, the South Pacific and the New World rather than being conquered themselves.
