Creek watershed plan is topic of meeting

Hillsborough County staff will hold a public meeting to discuss the Delaney Creek watershed management plan. This plan will study the flooding and water quality issues in the area. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the cafeteria at McLane Middle School, 306 N Knights Ave. For information, call (813) 272-5275.

Sterling Ranch drainage improvements

Hillsborough County staff will hold a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The meeting will be in the cafeteria at Kingswood Elementary School, 3102 S Kings Ave. Drainage improvements of Sterling Ranch will be discussed. The purpose of the project is to lower the height of the ground water level in the area. For information, call (813) 272-5275.

"Holidays in Hyde Park' offers jazz, discounts

The Shops of Old Hyde Park Village and Smooth Jazz WSJT-94.1 FM will present "Holidays In Hyde Park," from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Guests will enjoy shopping, jazz music, holiday food and beverages and special discounts at stores. Complimentary valet parking, gift wrapping and gift check will be available. The village will be open only to Holiday In Hyde Park patrons. Tickets are $25 per person and $45 per couple. Proceeds will benefit the St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation. Chef, author presents foods of the Greek islands

Inkwood Books and Mise en Place Restaurant present Julia Child award winner Aglaia Kremezi at noon Saturday at Mise en Place, 442 Kennedy Blvd. A brunch featuring her recipes will be served. There will also be a cooking demonstration. Kremezi will autograph copies of her new book, The Foods of the Greek Islands. The event is free and open to the public; reservations are required. Weight control program at Tampa General Hospital

Tampa General Hospital is sponsoring the "Wellness Seminar for Weight Control" from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at 2 Columbia Drive on Davis Islands. The first 45 minutes of each session is a free orientation and the participants can pay $50 if they want to continue. For information call (800) 848-2822.

Holiday grief support group meetings

LifePath Hospice is offering holiday grief support groups during November that are open to the public. Four groups will meet every Tuesday beginning Tuesday through Dec. 19. The first group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at 3010 W Azeele St., the second group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Brandon at the Beverly Health and Rehab, 1465 Oakfield Drive, the third group will meet at Homewood Residence, 3910 Galen Court from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in Sun City Center and the fourth group will meet from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Alterra Clare Bridge, 1513 W Fletcher Ave. For information, call (813) 877-2200.
