© St. Petersburg Times, Tales of wine and yogurt begin Buck trialR.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck staggered around a plane, got stuck between seats and covered himself in yogurt after downing 15 glasses of red wine on a flight to Britain, a London court was told Monday. Prosecutor Edward Lewis said on the first day of Buck's trial that Buck, 44, "became the transmogrification of Dr. Jekyll into Mr. Hyde" during the 8 1/2-hour flight from Seattle to London. Buck is charged with being drunk on an aircraft, assaulting two cabin crew members, interfering with the performance of a crew member's duties and damaging British Airways' dishes during the April flight. Buck, who appeared in court, denies the charges. After drinking 15 glasses of wine in the flight's first 3 1/2 hours, Lewis said, Buck became stuck between two seats, mistook a hostess trolley for a CD player and covered himself and the cabin services manager with the contents of a yogurt tub. The trial is expected to last a week. Report: Harrison dischargedGeorge Harrison checked out of a New York hospital after treatment for a brain tumor, the New York Post reported. He was expected to remain in New York for several weeks while completing outpatient treatment, the newspaper said. Official comment about Harrison's condition remains hard to come by. Harrison's publicist said Wednesday she was no longer representing him, and there has been no one to answer questions about his health. TV notesMalcolm in the Middle has landed the coveted post-Super Bowl slot Feb. 3. The Hollywood Reporter said Fox will air a special hourlong episode after its broadcast of Super Bowl XXXVI. . . . Comedy Central has hired radio comic Sal Iacano as co-host of Win Ben Stein's Money and canceled The Chris Wylde Show. It also has added Carmen Electra and comedians Brad Wollack and Arj Barker to Battle Bots. Iacano replaces Ben Stein co-host Nancy Pimental; his shows will premiere in late April.
