North Pinellas digestBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published November 14, 2000 Recreation Center sponsoring holiday eventsSEMINOLE -- The Seminole Recreation Center will commemorate the holiday season with several events. On Nov. 21, there will be a "Thanks for Giving" catered luncheon at the center, 9100 113th St. N from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those who bring two cans of food will get $2 off the $5 cost. There also will be live entertainment. The sign-up deadline is Thursday. On Nov. 29, a trip to St. Petersburg is planned. Participants will eat lunch at The Pier in St. Petersburg and see It's a Wonderful Life at the Mahaffey Theater. A bus will leave the Recreation Center at 11:30 a.m. and returns at 4 p.m. Lunch will be on your own at the Pier's Columbia Restaurant and then participants will catch the afternoon show at the Mahaffey. Cost: $35, which includes bus transportation and show ticket. Advance registration is required by today. Finally, a Christmas trip is planned to Cypress Gardens on Dec. 9. There will be a Christmas concert by The Lettermen, a dinner buffet and a tour of the various holiday trees and light displays. The bus leaves the Recreation Center at 9 a.m. and returns at 8 p.m. Cost: $48, includes park admission, the buffet and transportation. Sign up by Nov. 20.
