TAMPA -- The second annual Tampa Bay Fights Cancer Week culminates Saturday at the Ice Palace.

More than 5,000 cancer patients, their families, doctors, nurses and volunteers will receive free tickets, T-shirts and food vouchers for the 5 p.m. game against Carolina. Local attorney Steve Yerrid's Yerrid Foundation, which is purchasing the tickets, has pledged $100,000 to cancer research if the remaining 2,500-3,000 tickets to the game are sold.

In addition, Hurricanes owner Peter Karmanos, who lost his wife, Barbara Ann, to breast cancer, has pledged $2 for every ticket sold between now and Saturday, up to $5,000.
