Citrus in briefBy Times staff writer © St. Petersburg Times, published November 16, 2000 Stampede Rodeo slated for weekendINVERNESS -- The Citrus Stampede Rodeo will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the livestock pavilion at the Citrus County Fairgrounds, U.S. 41 S, Inverness. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the gate for adults; $4 in advance and $5 at the gate for children (4-12). Ticket locations are Crystal Dodge on State Road 44 W, Inverness and U.S. 19 S, Homosassa, the Citrus County 4-H office at the fairgrounds auditorium in Inverness and the Feed & Western Outlet, U.S. 41 and Arlington Road, Inverness. Library concerts canceled for NovemberCRYSTAL RIVER -- The Live Concert Series sponsored by the Coastal Region Library in Crystal River has been canceled for the month of November. Craft Council sponsors Winter Wonderland showCRYSTAL RIVER -- The Citrus County Craft Council will hold its annual Winter Wonderland show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 2 at the National Guard Armory, U.S. 19 and Venable Street, Crystal River. The works of approximately 60 crafters will be on display. The show benefits the Pregnancy and Family Life Center of Citrus County. Floral City to mark Heritage DaysFLORAL CITY -- The annual Floral City Heritage Days turn-of-the-century street festival will be from from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 1 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 2. The Dec. 1 event, known as Candles 'N' Carols, includes the Floral City Lions Club fish fry, caroling along the Avenue of the Oaks and horse-drawn wagon rides. Activities on Dec. 2 include tours of historic homes, horse-drawn wagon tours, period dress, plenty of food and folk music. Arts group presents 'A Christmas Carol'HERNANDO -- The Citrus County Art League Performing Arts Group will have a reading of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 10. Art League directors to hold meetingHERNANDO -- The Citrus County Art League board of directors meets at 10 a.m. Dec. 14 at 2644 N Annapolis Ave., Hernando. Festival of Lights slated in Beverly HillsBEVERLY HILLS -- The eighth annual Beverly Hills Festival of Lights begins on Nov. 24. The display presented on the grounds of the Beverly Hills Recreation Association consists of over 100,000 sparkling lights. A dedication ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 24 between the tennis courts and swimming pool. Light refreshments afterward in the Civic Center and entertainment by the Chorus of Beverly Hills. The Festival of Lights will be illuminated from Nov. 24 through the first week of January. Winter Concert slated in Sugarmill WoodsSUGARMILL WOODS -- The Sugarmill Woods Chorale presents its annual Winter Concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15 at First United Methodist Church, 8831 W Bradshaw St., Homosassa. The program includes selections from The Nutcracker, Joy To The World and In The Bleak Mid-winter.
