Stampede Rodeo slated for weekend

INVERNESS -- The Citrus Stampede Rodeo will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the livestock pavilion at the Citrus County Fairgrounds, U.S. 41 S, Inverness. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the gate for adults; $4 in advance and $5 at the gate for children (4-12). Ticket locations are Crystal Dodge on State Road 44 W, Inverness and U.S. 19 S, Homosassa, the Citrus County 4-H office at the fairgrounds auditorium in Inverness and the Feed & Western Outlet, U.S. 41 and Arlington Road, Inverness. A country music dance will be 9 p.m. Saturday at the fairgrounds auditorium. Tickets are $5. Call 564-4525.

Library concerts canceled for November

CRYSTAL RIVER -- The Live Concert Series sponsored by the Coastal Region Library in Crystal River has been canceled for the month of November.

Craft Council sponsors Winter Wonderland show

CRYSTAL RIVER -- The Citrus County Craft Council will hold its annual Winter Wonderland show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 2 at the National Guard Armory, U.S. 19 and Venable Street, Crystal River. The works of approximately 60 crafters will be on display. The show benefits the Pregnancy and Family Life Center of Citrus County. Also, non-perishable food for Day Star food baskets and unwrapped toys for disadvantaged children will be accepted. Free admission and parking. Call Maria at 621-3608.

Auditions scheduled for comedy show

HERNANDO -- Gulf Islands Civic Theater will hold auditions for thecomedy Squabbles at 7 p.m. Nov. 28 and 29 in the Hampton Room at Andre's Restaurant in Citrus Hills off County Road 486. Roles are for four men and three women. Call Jeri Augustine at 795-3077.

Floral City to mark Heritage Days

FLORAL CITY -- The annual Floral City Heritage Days turn-of-the-century street festival will be from from 6 to 9 p.m. Dec. 1 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 2. The Dec. 1 event, known as Candles 'N' Carols, includes the Floral City Lions Club fish fry, caroling along the Avenue of the Oaks and horse-drawn wagon rides. Activities on Dec. 2 include tours of historic homes, horse-drawn wagon tours, period dress, plenty of food and folk music.

Arts group presents 'A Christmas Carol'

HERNANDO -- The Citrus County Art League Performing Arts Group will have a reading of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 10. Members of the audience can participate. Light refreshments are provided. Reading will be at the art league, 2644 N Annapolis Ave., Hernando.

Art League directors to hold meeting

HERNANDO -- The Citrus County Art League board of directors meets at 10 a.m. Dec. 14 at 2644 N Annapolis Ave., Hernando. The general meeting will be a luncheon at the Crown Hotel on Seminole Avenue, Inverness, from noon to 2 p.m. Festivities include a fashion show and a canned food or toy drive for Citrus United Basket. Carnegie Hills show to aid cultural fund

HERNANDO -- Carnegie Hills, the fourth annual musical performance, will be at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30; 7 p.m. Dec. 1 and 2 and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Citrus County Art League, 2644 N Annapolis Ave., Hernando. The show features music, dance and comedy. It is a fundraiser for the art league cultural center fund. Call Anna at 795-5426.

Festival of Lights slated in Beverly Hills

BEVERLY HILLS -- The eighth annual Beverly Hills Festival of Lights begins on Nov. 24. The display presented on the grounds of the Beverly Hills Recreation Association consists of over 100,000 sparkling lights. A dedication ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 24 between the tennis courts and swimming pool. Light refreshments afterward in the Civic Center and entertainment by the Chorus of Beverly Hills. The Festival of Lights will be illuminated from Nov. 24 through the first week of January.

Winter Concert slated in Sugarmill Woods

SUGARMILL WOODS -- The Sugarmill Woods Chorale presents its annual Winter Concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15 at First United Methodist Church, 8831 W Bradshaw St., Homosassa. Concert features both sacred and secular music. Tickets are $6 from any chorale member. Call 382-3498.

Yule crafts festival, parade scheduled

INVERNESS -- The annual holiday on Inverness Square arts and crafts festival will be around the Old Courthouse from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 9. The festival will take place the same day as the Christmas parade. Call 726-3913.

Symphony announces Holiday Concert

LECANTO -- The Central Florida Symphony presents its Holiday Concert at 3 p.m. Dec. 10 at Curtis Peterson Auditorium at the Roger Weaver Educational Complex, County Road 491 S, Lecanto. The program includes selections from The Nutcracker, Joy To The World and In The Bleak Mid-winter. Special guests will be the Children's Chorus from Sunrise Elementary, under the direction of Karen Blinkhorn, 1999 state Teacher of the Year. 'Nuncrackers' musical coming to Playhouse 19
