Headline for Pack game missed mark

If ever a photo was mistitled, it was your half-page shot of Warren Sapp crawling off injured Brett Favre, who was writhing in pain and, above it, the screaming and gloating headline "Knockout."

No one likes to see a player hurt, then sidelined for the remaining two-thirds of a game. Despite the mental anguish Favre has delivered to Tampa Bay over the years, this great warrior deserves better than this unsportsmanlike treatment. I hope No. 99 is as incensed about this portrayal as a lot of us other quasi-seasonal fans.

You owe Sapp, Favre and all sports fans an apology.
-- Bruce Bishop, Tomahawk, Wis.; Belleair Beach

"Hardly anything went right. I can't think of anything that did go right ... so it can be a motivating factor. It's hard to forget a game like that. It certainly stays with all of us for a long time."
-- Bears coach Dick Jauron, on Bucs' 41-0 win in Week 2
