CRYSTAL SPRINGS -- A Zephyrhills man was arrested on a charge of attempted murder Saturday morning nearly two hours after three witnesses said he came after his estranged wife and another man with a knife, according to his arrest report.
Steven Taylor, 35, 3747 Allen Road, was arrested in Zephyrhills at 6:53 a.m. on charges of attempted murder, armed burglary, aggravated assault, domestic battery, violation of a domestic violence injunction and two counts of simple battery.
According to his arrest report, Taylor went to 39435 Bay Avenue in Crystal Springs armed with a kitchen knife at 5 a.m. Witnesses said he kicked in the front door. At the door, he was confronted by Kimberly Coleman, 28, who said Taylor pushed her out of the way.
The report said Taylor then kicked in a bedroom door, where Stephanie Taylor, 31, and Bryan Peoples, 29, were sleeping. The report said Steven Taylor jumped on the bed and began trying to stab Peoples.
The three struggled with the knife, and it was thrown into a hallway. The report said Steven Taylor then ran outside, got in his truck and rammed it into the home, bending an aluminum panel and breaking a support beam. He then fled the area, the report said.
While deputies investigated, the report said, Steven Taylor called the house several times, saying he was "going to kill victim Peoples and himself." He was found at 5506 21st St. in Zephyrhills and arrested.
Steven Taylor was being held Sunday night in lieu of $222,500 bail at the Pasco County jail in Land O'Lakes.
