COACH DICK JAURON ON HIS TEAM'S DEFENSE: "We have a ways to go. Our defense has played extremely well, particularly the last three weeks. The Tampa Bay defense has played well for a number of years now. We would aim to be a defense like that. We believe we have young players we can build on and create that kind of defense."

JAURON ON THE BUCS' LOSS OF FULLBACK MIKE ALSTOTT (KNEE) AND SAFETY JOHN LYNCH (DISLOCATED RIGHT SHOULDER): "It hurt them, obviously, because those are tremendous players. Hopefully, they're not serious injuries, but it hurt them."

RUNNING BACK JAMES ALLEN ON THE BUCS, AND THE BEARS: "They are pretty good, but along with that they are cocky at times. There were some statements made in the papers about how they felt sorry for us the first time we played them, so we took that personally. ... When teams play the Bears, they bring it, because we are one of the top franchises in the National Football League."

QUARTERBACK SHANE MATTHEWS ON THE BUCS: "That's the best defense I've faced. Its front four puts tremendous pressure on the quarterback. I got hit just about every time I dropped back. It was exciting to play against those guys, because if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best."

ROOKIE LINEBACKER BRIAN URLACHER, THE TEAM'S FIRST-ROUND DRAFT PICK, ON KING'S TIME TO THROW: "We were dropping a lot of people and not blitzing a lot."

DEFENSIVE END PHILLIP DANIELS ON THE WIN: "It gives us some respect. You just can't come in here, no matter what the record is, and think you are going to run over the Bears. One thing we are going to do is play tough. We are going to fight with everything we've got."

JAURON ON THE WIN: "We have a hard time scoring on Tampa Bay, obviously, and we're not alone in football. They're an outstanding football team. It was a great feeling to beat them here, in front of our fans, in our stadium."

JAURON ON HIS TEAM'S YOUTH: "We have a lot of young players and at critical positions. It's not just knowing the scheme. It's knowing how the guys play the scheme, and what they're going to do in certain situations. It takes time, but they played very well."

URLACHER ON HIS INTERCEPTION AND 19-YARD RETURN WITH TWO MINUTES LEFT: "I was surprised to see the ball. I was in good position for a change on a middle read. King just threw it and my eyes got big. I should have taken a knee once I caught the ball. I don't need to be running with it."
