NEW PORT RICHEY -- Pasco-Hernando Community College walked out of last year's NJCCA volleyball tournament in shock.

The Conquistadors were unceremoniously sent home with losses in their first two matches.

PHCC was ready to forget about its first visit to the national tournament.

As PHCC prepared for its second visit, first-year coach Sam Cibrone wanted his sophomores to think back.

He wanted them to remember the feeling of being overmatched. And Cibrone wanted them to keep that from happening again.

"Luckily most of my team is sophomores. They've all been there. They know the shell-shocked effect is over," Cibrone said."

PHCC (30-8) had a true Goliath to slay in its tournament opener Monday in Overland Park, Kan. The Conquistadors met the College of Southern Idaho (46-5).
