Thanksgiving closings

The following businesses and government offices will be closed for Thanksgiving.

Hernando County libraries, all branches, closed Thursday-Saturday, will re-open Nov. 27.

Hernando County Government offices (closed Thursday and Friday)

Supervisor of Elections office (closed Thursday and Friday)

U.S. Postal Service (closed Thursday)

Banks, all branches (closed Thursday)

Hernando County Sheriff's Office (closed Thursday and Friday)

Hernando County public schools (closed Wednesday through Friday)

Hernando County Northwest Waste Management Facility, East Hernando Transfer Station and the West Hernando Transfer Station (closed Thursday)

Pasco Hernando Community College, all campuses (closed Thursday and Friday)

Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative offices (closed Thursday and Friday)

Brooksville Police Department offices (closed Thursday and Friday)

Florida Water Service office (closed Thursday and Friday)

Southwest Florida Water Management District office (Swiftmud) (closed Thursday and Friday)

Brooksville City Hall (closed Thursday and Friday)

Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce (closed Thursday and Friday)

Department of Children and Families (closed Thursday and Friday)

City of Brooksville Sanitation Division: Monday and Tuesday pickups will be as regularly scheduled. Thursday pickups will be on Wednesday. Friday's pickups will be as regularly scheduled. There will be no change in commercial pickups.

Hernando County Recreation Department (closed Thursday and Friday)

Jerome Brown Community Center, 99 Jerome Brown Place, Tom Varn Park, off Darby Lane, Brooksville (open Wednesday from 3 to 9 p.m., and closed Thursday and Friday)
