    Promotions

    Jonathan D. Someck, a 1991 graduate of Clearwater Central Catholic High School, was promoted to the rank of Army sergeant. He is an Arabic linguist. He is stationed at Fort Stewart, Ga., with the 103rd Military Intelligence Battalion, and will deploy to Bosnia-Herzegovina in support the peacekeeping mission. He is the son of Marti B. Someck of Clearwater.

    Stephen E. Cole, a 1997 graduate of Seminole High School, was promoted to the rank of Army Specialist. Cole, a recent Soldier of the Month, is employed by military intelligence at Fort Meade, Md. He is the son of Richard and Antoinette Cole of Largo.

    Completion of training

    Seaman E-3 Ryan Michael Jansen, a 2000 graduate of St. Petersburg Junior College, completed U.S. Coast Guard basic training in May at Cape May, N.J. Jansen is stationed in Homer, Alaska, aboard the Coast Guard cutter Sedge. He is the son of William and Kathy Jansen of Seminole.

    Kyle M. Billiot, a graduate of Pinellas Park High, completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. He attends aviation training and will go to Shepphard's Air Force Base for the remainder of his training. He plans to continue his college education and pursue officers' training. He is the son of Lori Billiot and stepson of Leon Earl Watts of Clearwater.
