Group to serve turkey dinner for the homeless
The International Masons and Order of the Eastern Star will hold its Thanksgiving Dinner for the Homeless and Lonely from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at the Masonic Temple, 855 13th Ave. S, St. Petersburg. The organization also will deliver turkey dinners to the homebound in the area. For information on either the dinner at the Masonic Temple or the meals for the homebound, call 823-7616 or 867-1218.
Military society to form Tampa Bay chapter
The Distinguished Flying Cross Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation, perpetuation and publication of the history and traditions of men and women who served in all military services worldwide who have been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, plans to hold its inaugural meeting in this area from noon-3 p.m. Dec. 15 at the Royal King Buffet, 7610 49th St. N, Pinellas Park. Yeshitela to speak at Talk Across Race program
Omali Yeshitela will be the speaker at the next Talk Across Race program at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The talk and accompanying conversation will focus on "Sharing Power, Repairing Relations." Seniors get paid while training for employment
The AARP Senior Community Service Employment Program helps low-income people ages 55 and older find employment. The program provides training and pays minimum wage while people are training. Call 943-7370.
