CARROLLWOOD PLAYERS: The Carrollwood Players will present The Man Who Came to Dinner at the Carrollwood Playhouse, 4333 Gunn Highway. The entertaining Christmas story features a grouchy radio personality and his self-serving antics. Performances will be at 8 p.m. today and Saturday, Dec. 1-2, 8-9 and 15-16 and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3 and 10. BASKETBALL CLINICS: The Bob Sierra Family YMCA, 40229 Northdale Blvd., is taking registration through Dec. 1 for its preseason basketball clinics. Clinics will be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. (for ages 8 to 9) and 10:30 a.m. to noon (for ages 10 to 12) on Dec. 2 and Dec. 16. the clinic will offer instruction on basic basketball skills including dribbling, passing and shooting. cost is $10 for facility members, $16 for program members. CARDIAC DISEASE LECTURE: SeniorCare of University Community Hospital-Carrollwood is offering a free lecture on heart disease from 1 to 2 p.m. F.D. Faghih, M.D., cardiologist, will present the lecture "Well-Informed Seniors: Preventing Cardiac Disease-New Insight for Cardiac Care." The lecture will cover the following: a new way to look at cardiac care and treatment; lifestyle; risk and genetic factors; and advances being made in cardiology. CHRISTIAN WOMEN MEET: The Network for Christian Women will host its monthly luncheon meeting from noon to 1 p.m. at the Embassy Suites, 3705 Spectrum Blvd., near the University of South Florida. Meetings are open to women of various ages and denominations to socialize, have lunch and enjoy an uplifting message. Cost for buffet lunch is $10 (includes tax and tip). HANGING OF THE GREENS: Tims Memorial Presbyterian Church, 601 Sunset Lane in Lutz, will host a "Wonderful Wednesday" supper at 6 p.m. The annual "Hanging of the Greens" will immediately follow. CITRUS PARK PUBLIC MEETING: Hillsborough County's Planning and Growth Management Department will hold a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. at Citrus Park Elementary School, 7700 Gunn Highway. The topic will be the zoning overlay and regulations for the Citrus Park Village Neighborhood Plan. Residents and property owners are encouraged to attend to give input and ask questions. Looking ahead

WORLD AIDS DAY: The University of South Florida HIV/AIDS Committee will present its fourth annual World AIDS Day event from noon to 2:30 p.m. Dec. 1, at the Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza at USF, 4202 E Fowler Ave. "Make A Difference," will focus on awareness, education and prevention and will pay tribute to those who have died of AIDS as well as those who live with HIV. A highlight of the event will be the addition of forty-five 6- by 3-foot panels to the USF Memorial Quilt that have been made by USF students, employees and others. The Adopt-A-Panel Project began in 1997 and was inspired by the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt. For information, call (813) 974-5703.

AARP MEETING: The AARP Greater Keystone Chapter No. 3555 will host its annual Christmas dinner at noon Dec. 4. The covered dish affair will be held at the Keystone United Methodist Church, 16301 Race Track Road. Also, AARP state director Bentley Limpscomb will install officers for the year 2001.
